The latest instalment of “Everyone Belongs” featuring Leanne Howard.
In this edition, we celebrate NAIDOC week by speaking with Leanne Howard, a proud Aboriginal woman and descendent of the Biripi people with connections to Worimi.
Leanne is an alumnus, current professional staff member and student at UNSW. She is an advocate for improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a strong focus on mental health and suicide prevention.
Leanne is currently studying a Master of Public Health specialising in Aboriginal health and wellbeing. She actively pursues opportunities where she can contribute to driving change.
We hope you enjoy hearing Leanne’s journey and her reflections on cultural inclusivity at UNSW.
As part of NAIDOC celebrations this year, the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous has engaged lighting companies to light up University Mall, from Anzac Parade to the Scientia Building, to create UNSW NAIDOC After Dark. Read the full story on NAIDOC After Dark in this edition.
