In collaboration with Randwick Council, UNSW students again take on the challenge of lighting up Randwick Environment Park with their inspiring artwork and film.
NOX, Latin for night, is an annual night sculpture walk around the Randwick Environment Park. Experience the natural environment like never before as students from UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture transform the park and wetland into an illuminated outdoor art gallery.
From Friday 14 to Sunday 16 May, Art & Design students’ artwork will be installed around the park to form a 1.5km loop walk, starting and ending at the Randwick Community Centre. All artwork on the journey will be powered and lit by renewable energy sources. The display will begin at 6pm and run to 8pm nightly.
The after-dark art continues with a new addition – NOX Night Cinema. Students from Arts & Media will screen short films and animation on rotation in the auditorium.
Food trucks and a bar will be trading from 5pm to 9pm. There will be a diverse selection of food including Barbicrew, Wholly Schnitt and Algae Fine Food, with more to be announced. In addition, Archie Rose Distilling Co will be bring its award-winning spirits to NOX this year, along with an offering of wine and beer, and Gelato Messina will be pulling up in its famous retro gelato van.
