The Kensington campus’ iconic Coffee Cart is moving to larger premises at the beginning of April.
A morning trip to the Coffee Cart, Caffé Brioso, has been a favourite ritual of many UNSW staff over the last 26 years since it started in 1996. But soon, this much-loved establishment will be moving to a larger premises.
The café will move across the Library Lawn to the former retail space of Biblio Café on Monday 4 April. You can expect to find the same staff, taste the same coffee, and now order from an extended menu.
Mark Wittingham, operator of the Coffee Cart, said, “For 26 years we have always felt very honoured and privileged to be part of the UNSW community. We have made many friends and continue to meet so many exciting and inspiring people – we look forward to many more years of continuing the journey.
“We will continue to trade as Caffé Brioso with the same team and will continue to offer the same great coffee and coffee menu, roasted specially by Coffee Alchemy. We are most excited that we will have the opportunity to move our product and skills to a more controlled environment where we will be able to serve our product to its full potential,” he said.
The new location will mean the café’s loyal staff will no longer need to stand in the wind, cold, rain, and summer heat. In addition, the extra space allows for an extended range of daily pastry selections, breakfast items, and a lunch menu which will include daily spit roasted meats served in warm freshly baked breads, salads, and of course a variety of grab-and-go delights. In time, the menu will extend to take home dinner options as well as an extended evening service.
Visit the Coffee cart in its new location from Monday 4 April.
