Sing for health and happiness with the UNSW staff choir

17 May 2018
UNSW Staff Choir

Glee fans, rock gods and karaoke stars, assemble!

You are all invited to be part of the UNSW Human Rights Staff Choir (a name more ‘in tune’ with the outfit will be determined later).

The Australian Human Rights Institute is starting a choir to build relationships across all areas of UNSW and to support staff health and happiness.

Research has shown that singing in a choir benefits the brain (by releasing neurochemicals), the body (with improved breathing and posture) and mental health (by growing social connections).

Kicking off in Semester 2, with Dr John Napier from the UNSW School of the Arts and Media as Choirmaster, it’s proposed to meet on Mondays or Thursdays from 12pm-1pm, and no prior musical experience is required.

To join, or to let us know what songs with a human rights or social justice theme you would like to see performed, please return this form before Friday, 25 May 2018.
