The University rose three places to top the Australian University Procurement Network’s rankings of university procurement teams.
UNSW’s Procurement team (pictured above) has placed first in the 2024 Australian University Procurement Network’s annual rankings.
40 Australian universities, including the Group of Eight, were assessed in nine core categories: People, Technology, Governance, Value Realisation, Category Management, Supplier Management, Organisational Influence, Impact and Sustainability.
UNSW’s ranking has risen from ninth in 2018 to fourth from 2019 to 2021, and now to first place.
William Bailey, Director Procurement, attributed the team’s success to a focus on skills development and a commitment to excellence under a five-year procurement strategy.
“Moving through the ranks has taken several years. Our team’s continuous development and training ensures we are up to date with leading-edge skills and has helped us secure first place in this year’s rankings.
“Each year we obtain Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to ethics and excellence. We are custodians of UNSW's Sustainable Procurement Framework and use best in class procurement governance and operations. We’re thrilled at the results and the benefit we deliver to the University.”
UNSW Procurement continues to focus on the nine core competencies of the Network’s ranking system and areas where improvement can drive benefit for the University.
