UNSW’s technology website, MyIT, has a slick new design and updated content to reflect the University’s technology transformation towards global trends.
Expect a great new look with improved functionality, modern navigation and search tools to make the information you need readily available. The new MyIT delivers an improved audience experience so students, staff and visitors can search and find the technology services they need.
To create this improved experience, the build factored in ‘human centred design’ principles, with input from students and staff (both professional and academic) throughout its development. Regular user experience (UX) testing created a new MyIT designed by the people, for the people.
“Feeling like I was part of a website that many would use at UNSW was both insightful and rewarding,” says Tanya Holm, Manager Digital Library Initiative, UNSW Library.
“Some of our ideas were factored into how information was presented, which for people like me and my team who need to support many students asking us tech questions at the library, was really appreciated.”
Key features of MyIT include its search functionality helping you find what you need in three clicks or less, feature news about emerging technologies, easy to find information about network service and maintenance, and everything you need to get started at UNSW.
The MyIT transformation
MyIT supports students, staff, alumni and guests with IT services, and will also evolve into a website that supports our faculties and divisions design the technology solutions they need through a customer-focused service model.
The MyIT transformation was developed as part of the broader web and digital marketing transformation that seeks to improve the digital experiences of our community – including students, academics, researchers, staff, alumni, industry partners and others, drawing on the power of the Adobe suite of products.
As a project, it has been a true collaboration between the UNSW IT Engagement and Change team, the Web Operations Transformation (WOT) team, UNSW IT Digital Solutions, external agency partners and students, and academic and professional staff.
