UNSW Wellbeing kicks off a new nine-week health challenge for staff.
On Tuesday 21 May from 12 –2pm you are invited to a launch event for Destination GO outside the front doors of The Chancellery. There will be smoothie bikes, freebies and giveaways – and if you can show us on your phone that you have joined a Destination GO team, you may be able to grab a free T-shirt.
Destination GO is the competitive activity challenge within VP GO. It’s a team-based virtual race around the world, which all members can join. It starts on Wednesday 22 May and runs until Wednesday 24 July.
Destination GO features:
- a UNSW-wide team-based challenge
- teams of two to seven people
- a virtual race around the world – the more activity you do, the further your team goes together
- you can form your own team, or join an existing team.
What is VP GO?
UNSW Wellbeing has partnered with Virgin Pulse to offer staff access to the VP GO health and wellbeing platform.
VP GO is a digital health coach, providing social connection and an activity challenge. It’s designed to help participants take small steps towards improving their health, through friendly competition and personalised tracking of health habits and goals.
VP GO offers:
- daily tips to help you fit wellbeing into your schedule
- healthy habit challenges to help you build healthy habits one day at a time
- a UNSW-wide team-based Destination GO challenge
- personal, guided journeys that let you choose how to get healthier
- a free confidential Pulse Check health assessment to help you understand your wellbeing needs.
How can you sign up for VP GO?
- Sign up using your UNSW email address and follow the steps to register. Check your inbox for an activation email. The registration process is best done on your workstation or laptop.
- Once your registration is complete, you can download the Virgin Pulse app from the App store or Google Play store.
- Follow the step-by-step process to join or create a team of up to seven in Destination GO, then connect your activity tracker.
VP GO is funded by UNSW Wellbeing. It is free for staff to join, but spaces are limited. Last year we had a waitlist of nearly 80 people – get in quickly this year and don’t miss out!
