A new Critical Incident Team Awareness module is now available on Moodle.
Last year, the Major Incident Response Team (MIRT) was reviewed and updated to strengthen our organisational resilience in identifying and effectively responding to incidents that can have a significant impact on our campus community, operations and reputation.
The MIRT is now called the Critical Incident Team (CIT). The CIT has a revised structure with additional discipline leads joining the team, an updated Critical Incident Management Plan and a new incident escalation process.
It’s important for all staff to be aware how the University manages critical incidents and how to report an incident for timely assessment, response and escalation.
Complete the Critical Incident Team Awareness module
The CIT Awareness module can be accessed by registering for the course via myUNSW, Learning & Development tile. The course code is CITAWA. Once registered the course will be available in Moodle.
The module provides an introduction to the types of critical incidents that could occur at UNSW, the process in place to minimise impact, and the roles and responsibilities of the people managing the incidents and everyone else.
The module covers:
- What are critical incidents?
- What happens when a critical incident occurs?
- How are critical incidents managed?
The module takes around 20 minutes and we encourage all staff to complete it.
