Orientation Week, from 5–9 February, welcomes new students with speedfriending, study hacks, club events and more.
Kensington campus is alive with music, dance, night markets, food and freebies this week. O-Week helps commencing students engage with the UNSW community through fun workshops, activities and events.
A Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, delivered by Bidjigal Traditional Owners from the La Perouse community, launches the program that includes gigs, comedy, games, career discovery coaching and virtual reality drop-ins. Students can even help create a giant geometric sculpture in the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre (MCIC) Makerspace!
Events are designed to help students make friends, navigate campus and sample some of the co-curricular opportunities before they begin their studies. With more than 330 clubs, societies, sports and volunteer programs, the Arc Club Stalls on University Mall offer something for everyone.
With our growing domestic and international commencing student numbers, we're again hosting our Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and most Faculty Welcomes in the Sir John Clancy Auditorium. This year, the PG Welcome will enable students to network with peers and key faculty and professional staff.
The International Student Welcome Centre, in the Anita B. Lawrence Building, is open throughout O-Week and Week 1 to help our growing numbers of onshore international students find their feet with fun and informative activities. The International Student Welcome will be held in the Roundhouse.
The Arc ‘Yellow Shirts’ are leading campus tours throughout the week, sharing insider hotspots and shortcuts, while the Library Discovery Workshops help students understand how to make the most of its resources. The O-Week Party will once again close what promises to be a busy week.
A huge thanks to Student Onboarding and Transition, Peer Support, Arc, Student Communications, the faculties and Future Students. Their planning and collaboration ensure our new students have the best possible experience, while maintaining safe and considered use of the space across campus.
