We celebrated 75 years of UNSW at Winter Warmers

Winter Warmers event in Leighton Hall

The UNSW community came together for two days of fun, food and festivities last week.

On Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 July, more than 2300 staff celebrated UNSW’s 75th Anniversary at a special event. It was designed to recognise and thank our University community for their contribution. It was also an opportunity to donate food and other goods for Food Bank, to be distributed to those in need.

A magical winter wonderland met staff in the Scientia Building. Light igloos, a virtual fireplace and misty atmosphere contributed to the event’s cosy ambiance.

Getting creative

Staff could unleash their artistic side by joining a textured Paint & Sip session or gingerbread decorating extravaganza. They created a wonderful array of colourful masterpieces, with varying degrees of artistic merit but with universal enjoyment. For many, it was an opportunity to build team spirit.

Charity drive

Thank you to our generous UNSW community who contributed to the Winter Warmers charity drive by donating much-needed pantry, personal hygiene and household items. Your generous donations weighed an enormous 265 kilograms! These were delivered to Food Bank to help support people doing it tough this winter.

Winter Warmer fun facts:
