UNSW’s inaugural Sustainable Development Goals Showcase in September will highlight the work driving the University’s achievements in sustainability.
In this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, UNSW Sydney ranked seventh in the world and fourth in Australia out of a record number of institutions. The rankings measure universities’ contributions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assess their commitment to sustainability across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
You can discover the great work driving this result – and share your own work – at UNSW’s first SDG Showcase this September.
“It is a great opportunity for all members of the UNSW community to come together and share the fantastic work they are doing at a global, national and local level to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change, and create a more sustainable and equitable future for everyone,” Rita Henderson, Chair of the SDG Steering Committee, said.
“While similar showcases have been held successfully at a faculty level, this will be the first time it will be at a University level.”
Get involved
Students and staff are encouraged to submit an EOI to present their work at the SDG Showcase on Monday 23 September in Leighton Hall, John Niland Scientia Building.
The showcase is open to all UNSW students and staff. It will be an opportunity for people from across UNSW to share their projects and the impact of their work with the whole University community. The showcase will also encourage collaboration for developing future solutions.
Work can be presented in a range of formats, including stalls, demonstrations, interactive activities, presentations, workshops or masterclasses. The event aims to highlight the cross-disciplinary nature of the work being undertaken to tackle the goals and the collaborative approach UNSW takes to identify and produce real-world solutions that will drive progress and societal impact now and in the future.
Submit an EOI before 20 July 2024 to present work at the SDG Showcase.
