The festival, from Monday 18 to Wednesday 27 November, will bring together our vibrant community of learning and teaching practitioners from UNSW and beyond.
UNSW’s Education Festival provides attendees from across disciplines and the broader higher education sector with the opportunity to learn from each other, and to improve and grow as educators.
This year's program explores themes such as transformative 21st century pedagogies and technologies, demystifying AI in education, promoting inclusive teaching, fostering student wellbeing and belonging, future-proofing higher education, and much more.
The festival encourages cross-disciplinary connections and collaboration and will include presentations from students and staff across the University as well as some external guest speakers.
UNSW’s Teaching Commons will become the main home of the festival, hosting most of the hybrid events, in addition to sessions held at the Roundhouse and one hosted in Canberra (and livestreamed into the Teaching Commons).
This year’s themes include:
- Promoting inclusion and accessibility through course design and delivery
- Creating the world that never was
- Fostering wellbeing and togetherness (hosted at UNSW Canberra campus)
- Future-proofing higher education: Innovation, partnerships and building resilience for uncharted times ahead
- Cutting through the AI noise
- Supporting students: From first year to beyond
- Pedagogy of kindness: Strategies for engagement, transformation and wellbeing
- Fostering wellbeing and belonging
- Creating a sense of belonging for students to the UNSW Community
- Empowering minds: 21st century teaching and communication
- Scientia Education Academy: Thought leadership, knowledge sharing and awards.
Festival Finale
The festival will wrap up on Wednesday, 27 November with the Festival Finale.
The afternoon will kick off with the UNSW EduWorld Cafe & Expo, where UNSW colleagues will showcase their innovative strategic projects through interactive small-group discussions, posters and hands-on expo stations.
This will be followed by the Awards and Celebrations, featuring the Teaching Awards ceremony, which will celebrate UNSW winners of education awards and highlight the achievements that led to these accolades.
We will then conclude the festival with celebrations over drinks and nibbles.
