2021 was a strong year for research funding across UNSW Sydney.
Testament to the passion and expertise of our research community, UNSW came second in the nation for both Australian Research Council and National Health and Medical Research Council funding across all schemes. We’re also the most collaborative university in Australia, having secured a third of all Cooperative Research Centre Projects (industry-led partnerships) since the scheme began in 2016.
Tackling a wide range of problems - from antibiotic-resistant bacteria and ice addiction to hydrogen storage and urban heat mitigation – research at UNSW continues to strive towards a more equitable and sustainable future. Below is a snapshot of research funding and projects from last year.
