Four honorary doctorates, UNSW’s highest honour, awarded

Emeritus Professor David StClair Black AO, Rosemary Kayess, Dr Michele Bruniges AM and Professor Kelvin Kong AM have been honoured for their eminent service.

The final festival of graduations for the year took place between Monday 2 and Friday 6 December. UNSW hosted 14 ceremonies which included four honorary degree conferrals presided over by the Chancellor Mr David Gonski AC and the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Attila Brungs.

Emeritus Professor David StClair Black AO received the degree of Doctor of Science honoris causa for his eminent service to the University, organic chemistry and the global research ecosystem.

Rosemary Kayess

Rosemary Kayess received the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa in recognition of her eminent service as a human rights lawyer promoting the rights of people with disability and her contribution to UNSW Law & Justice.

Dr Michele Bruniges AM

Professor Kelvin Kong AM
