The exercise involved members of the University’s Critical Incident Team and more than 50 emergency service personnel.
In September, the UNSW Emergency Management Unit activated a multi-agency exercise to test the University's emergency preparedness and response capabilities to a critical incident on the Kensington campus.
The exercise involved the activation of senior staff members who form the Critical Incident Team and the deployment of more than 50 emergency services personnel. To simulate real-time response activities, University Mall was closed and a dynamic search and rescue operation was conducted, including medical aid and the establishment of command points.
A behind-the-scenes short video shows how the exercise unfolded. It highlights the emergency preparedness and response measures UNSW takes to ensure the University can safely manage its operations during an emergency incident.
We encourage all staff to watch the UNSW multi-agency critical incident exercise video.
