Cooking at home can help you to maintain a healthy body and mind during lockdown.
Working from home can be a slippery slope, with unlimited access to snacks in the pantry. But some smart planning can set you up for a day of eating that will keep your brain sharp and energy levels high.
Benestar will be running live cooking demonstrations in partnership with the Good Nutrition Company, to help give you and your family healthy lunch and snack options. These 30-minute sessions will be hosted by Benestar's Head Dietitian, Nicole Dynan. She will take you through how to create the dish, its nutritional benefits and why it is a well-balanced option that will give you the energy you need.
The live cooking demonstrations will feature two recipes – No-bake Chocolate and Coconut Slice, and Zucchini Fritters. Registration is not required – click on the recipe below to go to the Wellbeing website for the Teams link and the recipe card.
No-bake Chocolate and Coconut Slice – Monday 23 August
Zucchini Fritters – Monday 30 August
If you would like to cook along with the live demonstration, there is some pre-preparation of ingredients required. Please visit the Wellbeing website in advance and download the recipe cards so you know which ingredients you will need and how to prepare them for the demonstration.
These are family-friendly sessions so feel free to bring along your partner and/or children. Cooking as a family is a great way to increase family cohesion and teach kids about the importance of eating a variety of foods.
