Converge, UNSW’s EAP, provides free financial advice.

UNSW’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Converge, is a confidential counselling, coaching and wellbeing service that’s free for all for UNSW staff and their immediate family members. 

Money Assist

Money Assist is available to people who want to improve their financial wellbeing. It provides help with money management, reducing debts, saving for important financial goals, coping with financial change and many other aspects of finances.

Converge recognises that managing your finances can impact your mental health. Learning new healthy financial habits can help reduce your stress and improve your wellbeing, as well as help resolve financial conflict in relationships.

Your Money Assist consultant will work with you to develop a realistic action plan to support you to:

  • create a sensible debt payment plan that doesn’t incur extra costs
  • manage stress caused by personal financial challenges
  • learn new financial skills that improve your confidence when managing your finances
  • build new habits to better manage money, minimise stress and reduce personal conflicts
  • negotiate with creditors to obtain achievable payment arrangements.

Converge services

Converge has more than 60 years of experience in providing mental health and wellbeing services. The first EAP provider in Australia, they currently provide services for more than 2 million Australians. 

In addition to counselling, Converge offer eight streams of health and wellbeing services:

How do you access Converge?

1. Phone for an appointment
Call Converge on 1300 687 327, available 24/7.

2. Live Chat
You can access the Live Chat feature on the Converge website. 

3. Website
Visit the Converge International website and click Book Appointment. Enter our organisation code: UNSWUNSW

4. Onsite at the Kensington Campus
From 8 May 2024, Converge team members are available fortnightly on Wednesdays at the Kensington campus. Find out more about the onsite service.

5. Converge App
The app is included as part of our EAP program and is free. Search for “Converge International” in the App Store or Google Play store. When setting up the app, enter our organisation code to create your account: UNSWUNSW
