Three recharge weeks will occur in 2023, with the first from Monday 20 – Friday 24 March.
Following the continued positive feedback on the University’s Recharge Week initiative, UNSW will be rolling out Recharge Week across 2023. These will be aligned with Flexibility Week in each term.
- Term 1: 20 - 24 March
- Term 2: 3 - 7 July
- Term 3: 16 - 20 October
Recharge Week is about creating headspace for you and your colleagues, and aims to promote and prioritise the wellbeing of staff. During this week we encourage you to reduce meetings and emails, as much as is practicable, as a way of freeing up time to focus, plan and catch up on work. Recharge Week is still a working week, however with reduced email traffic and meetings. We also encourage staff to consider taking some annual leave during this week if possible.
The first of three Recharge Weeks for 2023 will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 March. We recognise that for some teams and individuals these dates may not be a suitable time to reduce meetings and emails. Teams are encouraged to work together to determine a better time to take their Recharge Week.
You can find more information on wellbeing here. We’d also like to remind you that UNSW staff and their families have access to Benestar, our Employee Assistance Program – a free, confidential counselling, coaching and wellbeing service to help you manage work and life experiences, issues or concerns.
