Be aware of the risk of accidents at pedestrian crossings near UNSW.

The safety of UNSW’s students and staff is our highest priority. The University has received several reports of near misses when UNSW community members have crossed to the light rail stops near campus without waiting for the green pedestrian lights.

Roads near the Kensington campus are very busy. All students and staff should follow pedestrian crossing signals to reduce the risk of accidents. You must wait for the green signal before you start to cross.

New electronic message boards have been installed near the Anzac Parade and High Street light rail crossings to remind students, staff and the community to cross safely.

Please note, NSW Police can issue a fine if you don’t follow rules related to pedestrian crossings.
