Help green our campus and boost your wellbeing during this special garden bee.
Spring is here, and so is the next UNSW Urban Growers garden bee. After a successful winter garden bee, UNSW Urban Growers is hosting a spring planting session on 15 October at the Barker St Carpark garden. This event will celebrate World Food Day.
What’s on the agenda?
- Composting 101: Learn the benefits of composting to create rich organic matter from food waste and discover how you can start composting yourself.
- Plant summer seedlings and sow seeds to give our garden a boost.
- Join the conversation about this year’s World Food Day theme ‘Right to food for a better life and a better future’ and discover ways you can make an impact.
Whether you’re a gardening novice or enthusiast, this session promises hands-on learning in planting seeds and seedlings, weeding and crop rotation practices. Gardening is also a great way to boost your mental and physical health, just in time for UNSW Health, Safety and Wellbeing month and Student Mental Health month.
This event is open to all students and staff interested in enhancing our campus green spaces.
