We all have a role to play in cyber security at UNSW.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. It’s the perfect time to refresh your knowledge and strengthen both your personal and workplace cyber security practices.

At our University:

  • Staff undertake the UCYBER – Cyber Security Awareness training and learn practical skills to safeguard our University’s data and assets as well as their own. If you’ve already completed the training, you can revisit the content anytime in Moodle.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a requirement. Learn more about MFA, including how to transfer your authenticator from your old phone to your new one.
  • You can stay informed with good cyber advice such as how to safely handle digital information, best practices for managing emails, reporting phishing attempts, and the benefits of patching and protecting devices.

In your personal life, take a moment to review your own cyber practices by visiting the Australian Home Affairs office for simple but essential cyber advice.

Visit the MyIT website to learn more about cyber security.
