Live music, Indigenous dishes and an inaugural art installation will commemorate the week.
National NAIDOC Week is held across Australia in the second week of July each year to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, from Monday 8 to Friday 12 July, The Lounge will offer an Indigenous dish: warm sweet potato salad, green bean and karkalla salad with native nham jim and macadamia. Guests can also enjoy an art installation, and free coasters with a bush tea recipe to take home.
On Thursday 11 July from 4 – 6pm we will have live music, featuring Indigenous artist Marcus Corowa, with 50% off selected drinks during that time.
World Chocolate Day
In addition to NAIDOC Week, from Monday 8 to Friday 12 July The Lounge will offer a free chocolate with every dine-in or take-away tea or coffee, to celebrate World Chocolate Day.
