UNSW celebrates NAIDOC Week

Immerse yourself in a day of exciting activities and events on campus on Monday 8 July.

UNSW students from Little Sister Big SisterFirst Nations Business Society and First Nations Engineering Society have pulled together a packed day of events on Monday 8 July to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements.

From the Elenonora Kopalinksy Lawn (Globe Lawn) to the Village Green and down to the Roundhouse, UNSW's Kensington campus will be cheering Keep the fire burning! Blak, Loud & Proud. The event kicks off with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country before the annual touch football game between The Kensington Colleges (TKC) and Nura Gili

Then there will be dance performances, art and weaving workshops, market stalls and student performances. Adam Goodes, Lidia ThorpeVanessa Turnbull-Roberts and Renee Wootton will host a panel discussion of First Nations leaders. 

In the evening, students and staff can enjoy performances from Mitch Tambo, Zipporah Corser-Anu and Christine Anu at the Roundhouse.

Register to attend and join these student-led celebrations on Monday 8 July, starting with the Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country from 10am at the Eleonora Kopalinksy Lawn (Globe Lawn).
