At UNSW we operate with integrity and honesty and seek to create a culture of accountability and trust. New UNSW Delegations form a comprehensive reference to enhance clarity, build trust and enable efficiency in decision-making across the University. Following a full review in consultation with our UNSW community, the new Delegations were approved by Council on 14 October 2024 and will take effect from 1 January 2025.
How do the Delegations help you?
When we properly exercise Delegations, we act in alignment with our legislative obligations. The Delegations also link to our Code of Conduct and Values, and policies that provide principles and procedures to help us to navigate complex processes consistently and in effective collaboration with our colleagues. Delegations make it clear to everyone, including third parties, whether a person has the authority to enter into a transaction or agreement on behalf of the University.
Where you may have a conflict of interest, you will not be able to exercise your normal delegated authority, however, you can refer to the Delegations and related policies to identify the appropriate course of action.
