Professor Christine Mathies will join the Division of Education and Student Experience in October.

UNSW is delighted to announce that Professor Christine (Tini) Mathies has been appointed our inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor Education, and will join us on Tuesday 8 October.

Tini is currently the Senior Deputy Dean (Education and Student Experience) in the UNSW Business School. She brings her incredible wealth of knowledge on curriculum design and a strong understanding of the UNSW teaching and learning environment to the role. She’s a well-established strategic leader and has been at UNSW for almost 18 years, starting in 2006 as a lecturer in Services Marketing.

Over the years, Tini has held a number of senior roles at UNSW, including the Program Director of Bachelor of Commerce, Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Marketing. She is a strong advocate of student-first, evidence-based and people-focused initiatives and is a champion of equitable pathways to higher education. As a researcher, she explores how people and technology can provide service experiences that create value for organisations, employees and customers alike.

Tini’s appointment completes the standing up of the new Pro Vice-Chancellor Education portfolio within DESE, and we look forward to seeing how she shapes and champions education initiatives across UNSW.
