What events are you attending at Diversity Festival 2024?
Running all week from Monday 16 to Friday 20 September, Diversity Festival brings together students, staff and the public for free events, workshops and performances that celebrate and showcase our community. With more than 30 events scheduled throughout the week, there’s still plenty to get involved in.
Some highlights you can still attend include:
Wednesday 18 September
Paint at Paddington
10am–4pm
Register
Take a break and get creative at the Paddington campus with painting, music and a BBQ.
Ageing in Colour: The impact of intersectionality on the ageing experience
11am–12pm
Register
Hear from international speaker Jessy Dame, a Two-Spirit Métis nurse from Canada, about how intersecting identities shape our experiences, especially when it comes to facing challenges and discrimination.
Quad Festival
11am–2pm
No registrations needed
Head over to the Helen Maguire Lawn and enjoy food, activities and live performances, including a pop-up gallery, painting and music by AvaZan Music Group and myEnglish Choir.
AI: A Queer Comedy in 3MT Style
3–5pm

Get ready for a hilarious and thought-provoking event that combines improv comedy, AI-generated slides and UNSW research.
Thursday 19 September
Anti-racism @ UNSW staff training
9.30–11.30am

Build your cross-cultural capability, racial literacy and racial equity understanding through this training delivered in partnership with Kind Enterprises.
Improving the Student Experience of Class Participation

A targeted, interactive workshop on class participation which will help you better engage with your students.
Centring Lived Experience – Collection Launch
4–6pm
Register
A celebration of the compelling student stories showcased in a printed collection. Hear from the student authors who shared their stories and the staff who helped guide them at an evening at the Lounge.
Friday 20 September
Mosaic of Cultures: Celebrating Unity in Diversity
10am–12pm
Register
A panel discussion with AGSM MBA students celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures at UNSW, followed by a Q&A and networking brunch.

10am–2pm, Monday–Thursday, Library Walkway
No registrations needed
Decolonise your understanding of names, share your story and hear about the experiences of others in this stall activation.
Moonlit Traditions: Art and stories of mid-Autumn
Head down to the Scientia Foyer or check out @UNSWculture to enjoy student artworks that represent cultural celebrations of mid-Autumn traditions.
