Come and enjoy presentations, talks and opportunities to engage with world-leading research and initiatives showcasing the Sustainable Development Goals.

UNSW’s inaugural SDG Showcase will be held on Monday 23 September in the John Niland Scientia Building on Kensington campus.

It’s an exciting opportunity to explore the innovative projects that have contributed to our ranking as 7th globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings and to understand how UNSW is tackling the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

With more than 50 exhibitors showcasing their work, you can expect to be immersed in a range of simulations, demonstrations, displays, videos and more. You’ll engage directly with the experts behind impactful projects, gain insight into groundbreaking work and explore ways to get involved with UNSW’s SDGs work.

Throughout the day, there will be more than 20 short talks and presentations on the main stage, alongside more than half a dozen breakout events hosted in nearby rooms. They will provide deeper insights into UNSW’s work in areas such as clean energy, inclusive education and research, and Indigenous knowledge.

Schedule

  • 9.15am: Morning tea and a welcome from UNSW’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Attila Brungs
  • 9.45am: Pecha Kucha presentations – speakers will present 20 slides for 20 seconds each, so you will hear about a new project every 10 minutes
  • 11.00am: Panel discussion on climate change and clean energy chaired by Associate Professor Fengshi Wu

  • 1.15pm: Panel discussion on SDG education at UNSW chaired by Dhanushi Abeygunawardena (Nexus)
