Apply now for the UNSW Founders 2025 virtual program which runs in March–April.

The UNSW Founders New Wave program aims to empower and upskill UNSW students, staff, researchers and alumni in entrepreneurial thinking and business creation. Applications are now open for the 2025 virtual program.

New Wave is an opportunity for UNSW community members who identify as women to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems and pitch a viable business idea to industry leaders. Participants gain hands-on experience in lean startup methodologies, branding, design thinking and pitching.

The program includes participation in interactive workshops, mentorship and coaching sessions, and completion of a business pitch where participants share their ideas.

New Wave offers the opportunity to:

  • meet like-minded women, form a team and collaborate on an idea
  • earn essential entrepreneurial skills like pitching, leadership and design thinking
  • work 1:1 with Startup Coaches and be guided by industry-leading mentors
  • pitch at a showcase event to industry leaders
  • win cash, with a $7500 first prize sponsored by Westpac
  • visit world-leading companies such as Amazon and Microsoft
  • build confidence, make friends and have fun
  • receive accreditation by UNSW Advantage (for recognition on participants’ Australia Higher Education Graduation Statements).

The program runs from 17 March to 9 April, with workshops held online on Monday and Wednesday.

Applications close 5 March.
