Call for EOIs to review UNSW’s investment policy framework.
UNSW is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from academic and professional staff representing faculties and divisions from across the University to join a Financial Investments Working Group. This group will support the review and alignment of our investment frameworks and policies, with a focus on ensuring all investment decisions are made in accordance with our commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Our intention is to ensure UNSW investments have considered United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments.
The Working Group will hold its first meeting in December and will play a key role in identifying the University’s priorities and objectives for broader consultation activities with students and staff, scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
At the conclusion of the review, our goal is to establish more proactive and transparent reporting practices and recognition principles that support UNSW’s sustainability leadership. This will align with our Societal Impact Framework and the new UNSW Strategy: Progress for All, reinforcing our commitment to driving positive social and environmental change.
In selecting staff for the Working Group consideration will be given to:
- expertise relevant in an ESG review
- expertise in environmental sustainability, economics and investment, ethics, human rights, humanitarianism, international development, social sciences, security and defence
- representation of UNSW’s diverse community and perspectives.
Key investment policy documents for reference are:
- Investment Policy refer Section 9 of the UNSW Finance Policy (see under “Principles and objectives”)
- Responsible Investment Framework.
Expressions of interest will close on Tuesday, 26 November 2024.
